I'm interested in the total visitors to a train station. Should I sum up the footfall and visitor counts?
We recommend evaluating the footfall and visitor figures separately, rather than adding them together. Footfall within train stations largely depends on the layout of the station: A station with long corridors, that large masses have to walk through, will measure high footfall. Compact train stations where people arrive by public transport and immediately get to the platform will score much lower for footfall, even if the overall visitation is the same.
